Jaguar Land Rover announce Spectre partnership
Jaguar Land Rover will continue its successful involvement with the iconic James Bond franchise after announcing its line-up of vehicles set to feature in the 24th James Bond adventure, SPECTRE.
JLR’s stable of stars ready for their big screen debuts are the Jaguar C-X75, Range Rover Sport SVR and Defender Big Foot – all of which have been provided by Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
The Jaguar C-X75 – “the most advanced jaguar ever created” – will feature in a spectacular car chase sequence through the Italian capital Rome alongside the Aston Martin DB10.
Scenes including significantly modified versions of the Land Rover Defender & Range Rover Sport SVR have been filmed in Austria.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is the quickest and most powerful Land Rover ever produced – capable of the 0-60mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds thanks to a 5.0-litre supercharged petrol engine that develops 542bhp and a huge 680Nm of torque.
Prices for the Range Rover Sport SVR start at £93,450 with first deliveries starting in March.
Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Operations team developed the rugged Defender Big Foot with 37-inch diameter off-road tyres that make light work the most treacherous terrain.
John Edwards, Managing Director of jaguar Land Rover Special Operations, said, “This is an exciting partnership for Jaguar Land Rover and an opportunity to demonstrate the fantastic capabilities of the Special Operations team.’’
Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have been present in a succession of Bond movies. More recently, in 2012, the Defender 110 Double Cab Pick Up was driven by field agent Eve Moneypenny in the introductory sequence to SKYFALL.
SPECTRE is the latest Bond movie directed by Sam Mendes and sees 007 hot on the trail of a sinister organisations while M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive.
