Land Rover Ambassadors lead a Discovery Sport Adventure

The new Land Rover Discovery Sport supported Land Rover Ambassadors Monty Halls, Kenton Cool and Ben Saunders to showcase their astonishing accomplishments in Iceland.

Land Rover’s Discovery Sport had to be at its most capable and versatile to deal with the treacherous conditions on the Nordic Island.

Former Royal Marine, Monty Halls, leads expeditions into some of the most challenging surroundings on the planet.

Monty’s projects have seen him take in four circumnavigations of the globe in the last five years and journalists were welcomed by Halls to slip on dry suits before plunging into the freezing.

Mountaineer, Kenton Cool is regarded as one of the world’s best high altitude guides and has climbed Everest no fewer than 11 times, two of these in the same week – an incredible world first.

Kenton’s first attempt at leading a tough frozen waterfall ascent was thwarted due to the harsh Icelandic weather but he was still able to regale the assembled press with tales of his adventures.

Back in 2013, Ben Saunders, along with his teammate Tarka L’Herpiniere stamped their names in the history books when they complete Captain Scott’s iconic Terra Nova expedition.

The twosome became the first people ever to complete the Scott Expedition which was the longest journey on foot ever undertaken – Saunders also hold a number of record breaking Polar journeys and was the youngest person to ski solo to the North Pole.

During the weekend – the new Discovery Sport showcased its class-leading ability and practicality as guests navigated Iceland’s brutal artic terrain and weather.

The Discovery Sport's flexible 5+2 seating successfully transported passengers and their considerable equipment between each of the activities.

Global Brand Experience Director at Jaguar Land Rover, Mark Cameron, said, "This event has been fantastic example of the spirit of adventure that lies at the heart of the Land Rover brand.

Adding, “These three remarkable ambassadors have given us a glimpse into their worlds and their incredible achievements. They really do optimise what it takes to go Above and Beyond."

The new Discovery Sport is on sale now with prices starting from £32,395.
