Land Rover heads to Hollywood

Land Rover’s all new Discovery Sport will make it’s long awaited US debut at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Discovery Sport unveil is part of the Land Rover Experience L.A event, which offers customers a full urban all-terrain vehicle demonstration course alongside a selection of the British brands latest models and merchandise.

Running from 10am-6pm from Wednesday 18th November to Sunday 23rd November, visitors to the Land Rover Experience L.A will get a chance to drive a variety of Jaguar Land Rover’s new models.

Included in the line-up will be the 2014 Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque and US-exclusive Land Rover LR4, under the guidance of a professional Land Rover driving instructor.

Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing at JLR North America said: "Creating this unique experience in the L.A. area gives our current and future customers an opportunity to learn more about the Land Rover brand and test the all-terrain capability of our SUVs all without leaving the city”.

He added: “This Land Rover Experience also gives L.A. customers a chance to preview the newest Land Rover SUV, the Discovery Sport, months before it goes on sale next year."

The first model from the new Discovery family, the Discovery Sport, will go on sale in the UK from January priced from £32,395.

Replacing the outgoing Freelander, the new model comes with four trim levels and seven seats in a flexible 5+2 configuration that has benefitted from a comprehensive redesign.

This new design approach runs through the entire revamped Discovery range and allows for optimised volume, proportions and stance.

The entire Discovery range comes with the same, all-aluminium four-cylinder 2.2-litre SD4 Diesel engine, linked with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.

An all-new multi-link rear axle combined with supple long-travel suspension means the Discovery Sport is comfortable and sophisticated on-road, without losing the all-terrain capability, which the Land Rover brand is renowned for.

Several ingenious storage solutions are available inside, making this Discovery perfect for long family journeys. Up to four 12v power points and six USB sockets will allow everyone to keep their electronic devices charged throughout the trip.
