Never Stop Discovering – 25 Years of the Disco

Land Rover has marked the 25th anniversary of its legendary Discovery 4x4 with a video showing just how many people out there love their “Disco”.

From helping a woman make it into work in snowy Britain to crossing a rickety bridge in the middle of nowhere and battling across huge sand dunes in style – the Disco does it all!

The four-minute video has been added to the British marque’s Facebook page with many visitors to the site posting in with their own Discovery stories from years gone by.

In all 71 people (plus one dog!) are featured in the video, which spans 24 countries including Australia, China, France and Kenya, plus Mongolia, South Africa, the USA and beyond.

The Land Rover Discovery enables exploration for everybody; no matter what the weather, terrain or road condition, the Disco gets you where you want to be.

In tribute to the enduring popularity and love for the Discovery, Land Rover pays tribute to its customers at the end of the piece, saying: “It’s been quite a journey – we couldn’t have done it without you”.

Looking to the future, Discovery fans don’t have much longer to wait for the release of the newest member of the Disco family as the new Discovery Sport goes on sale in January.

Priced from £32,395, the new Discovery Sport replaces the outgoing Freelander featuring a choice of four trim levels and seven seats in a flexible 5+2 configuration.

An all-new multi-link rear axle combined with supple long-travel suspension means the Discovery Sport is comfortable and sophisticated on-road, without losing the all-terrain capability which the Land Rover brand is renowned for.

A multitude of storage solutions are available inside, making this Discovery perfect for long family journeys. Up to four 12v power points and six USB sockets mean everyone can keep their electronic devices fully charged.

Available to order now, the whole Discovery Sport range comes with the same, all-aluminium four-cylinder 2.2-litre SD4 Diesel engine, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
