Land Rover has revealed its refreshed Range Rover and Range Rover Sport for 2015 model year, with the vehicles featuring a comprehensive suite of updates.
Jaguar Land Rover’s Group Marketing Director, Phil Popham, commented: “As the world’s best luxury and premium sporting SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport have long offered an unrivalled combination of performance, luxury and off-road capability.
“These latest updates ensure both vehicles maintain their market-leading positions, with a special focus on performance, efficiency and increased personalisation options.”
Land Rover has updated its potent SDV8 engine, which now produces 334bhp and a massive 740Nm of torque – a 40Nm increase over the current version.
The British carmaker has also re-engineered its ZF 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission with a revised torque converter that incorporates a twin-spring damper.
Although the torque has increased, the SDV8’s fuel economy and CO2 emissions have remained unchanged at 32.5mpg and 229g/km, respectively.
New exterior highlights for the revised Range Rover and Range Rover Sport include updated puddle lamps and fixed panoramic roofs with power blinds.
In addition, the refreshed Range Rover will have the option of smaller-than-standard 19-inch alloy wheels with a ‘Satin Dark Grey’ finish.
From August 2014 onwards, UK customers can also order the Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography Black Long Wheel Base model.
This version is available in long wheelbase only and is a “design-focused response” to Land Rover’s customers’ “desire for more choice and exclusivity”.
Standard features on the Autobiography Black trim include unique 21- and 22-inch alloy wheels, new leather seat designs, unique ‘Santorini Black’ and ‘Black Chrome’ exterior trim, LED tail lamps, configurable mood lighting, and additional dashes of leather throughout.
Land Rover’s new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models also include Land Rover InControl technologies as standard.
InControl Remote enables motorists to remotely connect with their vehicle no matter where they are, while InControl Secure tracks the model should it be stolen.
The 2015 Land Rover Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are available to order from July 16th 2014.
