Discovery Sport wins What Car best Large SUV
For the third year in a row a Land Rover has taken the coveted title at the What Car? awards.
The Discovery Sport was commended for its balanced driving characteristics, high quality driving environment and exceptional practical credentials. The offering of seven seats as standard made a distinct impression as well, as families have access to a competitively-priced practical and efficient family vehicle.
It's an impressive suite of qualities that other crossover and SUVs cannot match. Discovery Sport is a comfortable jack of all trades, and a veritable master of most. Judges highlighted that all of this is available for the Discovery Sports affirmatively competitive pricing of between £25,000 and £40,000.
Discovery Sport has enjoyed a wealth of updates in its inaugural 18 months, with the excellent efficient and powerful new Ingenium engines joining the range. With the 150PS version achieving as high as 57.7mpg and CO2 emissions levels as low as 129 g/km, Discovery Sport is the complete package, impressing in every area. Judges were wowed by the new diesel Ingenium units' refinement too, as well as the excellent management of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) overall.
The fact that a Land Rover has won the award for the third successive year demonstrates the quality of the constant influx of new product at Jaguar Land Rover in recent years.
With sales figures of 16,500 to the end of 2015 and awards such as this from What Car?, Discovery Sport will to continue to impress critics, customers and its creators alike and looks to perform stronger still in 2016.
