Following on from five previous tours with this special rugby team, Land Rover has renewed its partnership with the British & Irish Lions for the sixth time.
Having been the official support vehicle supplier for the Tours to two tours of South Africa in 1997 and 2009, the New Zealand tour of 2005 and the tours of Australia in 2001 and the victorious 2013 series, Land Rover will be helping the side whilst here in the UK and on tour in New Zealand for the 2017 edition.
This continues the company’s long-standing relationship with the game of Rugby Union, as it supported the World Cups of 2011 and 2015, the English Premiership as the official vehicle and the Main Club Partner of Premiership side Wasps.
Land Rover is also very supportive of the youth game in the UK as title sponsors of the UK’s grassroots programme and the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup.
The previous Lions Tour of Australia in 2013 was incredibly successful for both the team and Land Rover, as the side lost only two games in their ten games as a squad. This included the brilliant 2-1 series win over the hosts Australia, after the test series went down to the final game in Sydney, where the Lions convincingly thumped the Wallabies 41-16.
